Our school was founded in 1875, so this year marks our 150th birthday - 150 years of extraordinary girls-first education that we need to celebrate!
The NGHS 150 Junior Challenge is open to all girls from Nursery to Year 6*, and first involves you thinking - perhaps with your parents - about the number 150! This will then be the theme of your challenge. For example, you might ...
produce a record of 150 days of reading
evidence 150 acts of kindness
raise £150 for the NGHS Bursary Fund, documenting your achievement
collect 150 facts about Nottingham
write a glossary of 150 French words
compile an inventory of 150 interesting artefacts or objects
create a booklet of 150 years of local history
produce a collection of calculations which have 150 as the answer
Or, for younger girls:
paint or collage the number 150, perhaps with an NGHS theme
prove that you can write all of the whole numbers from 1 to 150.
The possibilities are endless; we want you to showcase your creativity, play to your strengths (what you are good at) and demonstrate your interests. But remember your challenge must link somehow to the number 150 and - just like our Summer Shows - it should showcase creativity , resilience and excellence.
* Nursery participation is optional. Girls in Reception to Year 6 - participation is expected and students currently in Year 6 will submit their challenges to their new Year 7 form tutors in September.
Decide on up to three possible challenges. Class teachers will speak with girls if clarification is required.

Complete your project at home over the summer holiday and collect evidence along the way. Its quality should reflect your age and experience, with all girls aiming for EXCELLENCE.
Be ready to show, talk about and begin writing about your challenge in school from 3rd September.
Challenges will be exhibited and the judging panel will award prizes from 15-19 September.
Keep evidence of your project along the way. For example, you could keep a diary, take photographs or make short video/audio clips to capture key steps in your challenge.
When you return to school in September, you will be asked to write about your project and might be asked to present your achievements in class or an assembly - so any evidence that you collect will help with this.
